Nathalie et Thierry met in Dieulefit, in the south of the department of Drome, and subsequently decided to settle in the village which is renowned for its potters. They opened their first workshop in 1992 and since then have been working clay as a team. They find the plasticity of the material stimulating and it inspires them to create surprising shapes.

Practical objects, decorative items, tableware and sculptures are all part of their repertoire and all their pieces are original and unique. Their creativeness manifests itself in a myriad of shapes, colour and paintbrush techniques.

Dieulefit has a rich tradition of pottery and is home to numerous artists. Nathalie and Thierry chose to settle there because it is the ideal location for them to express the essential duality of their work. The clay quarry located at the heart of the village has been the focal point for many local artists past and present. Today the La Poustinia workshop continues to establish its reputation for technical prowess and originality.
